About

We’re not new to the challenges and roadblocks many creatives face. Whether you’re an aspiring student or an experienced maker, at some point in your typographic path you’ve probably encountered a barrier to entry.

In late 2019, a small group of industry professionals decided to stop talking about these obstacles and start doing something to remove them.

Together, we founded TypeWknd.

We’re an online-only type conference for everyone who sees, draws, makes, studies, and sells type. We’re powered by volunteers. And thanks to our generous sponsors, registration is free.

No matter your location, budget, or even your confidence level, you are welcome here.

This September we will be streaming a range of talks and workshops to type lovers from around the world. (Yes, we really did invite the entire planet.) Anyone can submit their idea for consideration.

A diverse and equitable team of reviewers will follow a blind voting process to select the content that best fits the conference goals:

  • Empowering a global typographic audience
  • Providing value to attendees of all backgrounds and experience levels
  • Serving under-invested communities

Our hope is that the TypeWknd platform provides a space for productive conversations, as well as inspiration for anyone seeking new ways to connect and build their businesses.

It’s time to change the typographic world. Are you ready to join us?
