    Alejandro Lo Celso

    He is an info & type designer from Córdoba, Argentina. A passionate teacher, he has lectured on type design, typography, and letter history in diverse schools in Latin America & Europe. He holds a typeface design MA from the University of Reading (UK) and a post-diplôme from the Atelier National de Recherche Typographique, Nancy (FR). Since 2001 he runs the premier type foundry from South America, PampaType, whose work has been widely recognized for its quality and originality.

    Anuthin Wongsunkakon (b.1973) is a partner of Cadson Demak, type design and graphic design firm based in Bangkok, Thailand. Known for providing exclusive font for companies in Thailand such as Telenor, Nokia, Tesco, Mazda, Mercedes Benz and Thai edition of international magazines such as Vogue, GQ and Wallpaper*. He also localized the classic such as Helvetica, Neue Helvetica and Frutiger for Monotype. His work also recognized by major companies such as Apple, Google, Line and Microsoft to produce and supply high quality typeface design along with extensive research about Thai typeface and typography. Computer Arts magazine Thai Edition once named Cadson Demak “The Most Influential Type Foundry in Thailand” while Wallpaper* magazine chose Anuthin as “Designer of the Year” in 2015. He also found Bangkok International Typographic Symposium (aka BITS) in 2010. BITS became the first and the only annual conference about typography in SE Asia.

    Dr. Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFarès is the Founding Director of the Khatt Foundation and Khatt Books publishers. Based in Amsterdam, her professional, cultural, and educational activities extend from the US and Europe to the Arab World. She holds degrees in design and design history from Leiden University (PhD, 2017), Yale University (MFA, 1990), and Rhode Island School of Design (BFA, 1987). She was a jury member of the Third Jameel Prize for Islamic Art and Design 2013 (Victoria & Albert Museum, London), and member of the grants selection committee for Mondrian Foundation (2011-2012) & The Netherlands Architecture and Design Fund (2013). She is member of AGI (Alliance Typographique Internationale). Dr Smitshuijzen AbiFarès specializes in multilingual typographic research and design, with focus on Arabic typography and design history. She has published several books on typography and design from the Arab World, and contributed essays to professional and academic publications. She is the author of Arabic Typography: A Comprehensive Sourcebook (2001), Experimental Arabic Type (2002), Typographic Matchmaking (2007), Typographic Matchmaking in the City (2011), Arabic Type Design for Beginners (2013), Nomadic Traces: Journeys of Arabian Scripts (2019), Kameel Hawa: The Art of Shaping Arabic Letters (2019), Typographic Matchmaking in the Maghrib (forthcoming), and The Catholic Press of Beirut: A Printing and Design Legacy in the Arab East (forthcoming). She taught design and typography courses at the American University of Beirut and the American University in Dubai. She works as and independent design curator, researcher, writer, designer, and publisher.

    Irina Koryagina is a graphic designer currently based in New York City.     Morgane Pierson is an independent typeface designer specialising in ancient, minority and not encoded writing systems. She joined The Missing Scripts project in 2017, as a research-student at the Atelier National de Recherche Typographique (ANRT).     Thomas Phinney is a type designer who has created fonts for Adobe and Google. He is the former CEO of FontLab, and previously had strategic/technical product management roles at Adobe and Extensis. Phinney was on the board of ATypI from 2004–2020. He has four patents and a medal, as well as an MS in printing/typography from RIT, and an MBA from UC Berkeley.
