I was asked by our national broadcaster to design a font family which would represent the Australian national identity. It was also required to unify the digital presence of a huge organisation, and be ultra-legible on all screen types. This is the story of how I approached this challenging but fulfilling project, with an examination of what national identity really means.

    After beginning as an advertising Art Director, Wayne started his type foundry in 2001. He works full time as a type designer, typographer and type educator. He recently gained his Masters of Type Design from the University of Reading, UK.
